Description 
Negative: nitrate negative replaced by copy negative 1977 of Kalahikiola Church (a) and 1975 contact print (b). Catalog card description: "Churches -- Hawaii -- Kohala. Kalahikiola Church, at Iole. Name means Day of Salvation, from the twin mountains, 6 mi. distant, whence all the timeber was dragged. Foundation laid in 1852, Dec. completed 1855. 1st thatched, at Nunulu, Baily and Bliss. 2d thatched, Iole, Bond, 1843. Blown down, 1849, Kona storm. Resolved to build stone church, same site (from notes on back of print). Signature in corner, H. Moller, 1884."
