Description 
Hawaiian Flag Quilt: Flags (Hawaiian) surround a central coat of arms (C.O.A.). The C.O.A. is pre 1897 (per Thrum's Hawaiian Annual Almanac). C.O. A. is countour quilted with decorative red embroidery stitching around applique. Flag quilting is straight, following the stripes. Two different red fabrics used: a brighter red in the center square and diagonal bars of Union Jack; a faded red flag stripes, vertical and horizontal bars of Union Jacks. Quilt top assembled by machine. Binding machine sewn. Cotton and wool.
