Description Quilt, blue silk patchwork. Front: Background of half the squares is a blue silk floral dobby weave. The other squares are a mixature of colors and patterns, all silk. The weaves are plain, damask and twill. Colors include solid black, navy blue, brown, pink, lt & med blue, med green, yellowish-tan, a gray green. The other colors are stripes, florals, plaids. There are 8 multi squares per side and 8 blue dobby squares per side. Back: solid black high glaze cotton chintz. Edging: med/dark blue silk (also found in squares). Wool batting.

Provenance Made by Nancy Ruggles from pieces of the silks brought to the mission seamstresses, 1820, by the queens, who wanted dresses like the mission ladies.
